According to Breitner, Karimi was the revelation of the game and has everything needed, to become a perfect "number 6" (defensive midfielder). He said that he had been most impressed by Karimi's vision, the way he made easy but clear and clever passes, his dribbling and touch, and specially, that he never lost his cool in tight situations which could make him a perfect leader in front of the defense.
Breitner compared Karimi to a chessplayer, and Magath, also being a chessplayer in real life, has indeed made a great move by signing Karimi. He also suggested that Karimi gives the team now many new options and that in the next game he could imagine Karimi playing in midfield next to Ballack and Demichelis playing in central defense and replacing the suspended Valerien Ismael.
Breitner has worked in the last years mainly as a consultant and scout for Bayern and as a columnist for Bild and various German football magazines.
