Hazfi Cup report- Perspolis and Sepahan out

Iran Sports Press - Two Hazfi Cup games were played on Sunday in Iran. Here follows brief reports from the two games.

Perspolis - Aboumoslem

Game report: Tehran giant Perspolis with a poor performance against Aboumoslem today lost their chance to adavnce to the semi final of Hazfi Cup. Perspolis' German coach Zobel had stepped down from his duties before the game. Ali Parvin and Reza Estili filled his shoes agaist Aboumoslem. After 17 minutes national team midfielder Mojtaba Jabbari took advantage of a Persepolis defender's mistake to pass the ball to Fereydon Fazli who scored with ease. Fazli had finished third in the IPL goal scoring table with 14 goals. Perspolis played with a 3-5-2 formation.

Perspolis international Yahya Golmohammadi didn't have a good game and was given the red card in the last few minutes of the game. Javad Kazemian national team midfileder was not in the starting line up due to injury and came in with half an hour to go.


Pas - Sepahan

Game report:
PAS, the only representative of Iran for the final round of the ACL, faced the other Iranian team during this year's ACL, Sepahan of Isfahan. After a dissapointing season in IPL by both sides, it was the only chance for both clubs to make it to next year of ACL by winning this game and advancing to semi final. PAS started an offensive game and after missing alot of goal scoring chances, finally scored in minute 33 by international striker, Arash Borhani with a pass from another national team player Javad Nekounam. Two minutes later Borhani scored his second of the game after a defensive mistake by Minavand. Borhani later completed his great day by scoring his third goal in the second half.
The only Sepahan goal was an own goal by Pas international defender, Mohammad Nosrati. Five minutes later Pas scored their 4th goal by Nekounam to celebrate their place in the semi finals with a 4-1 thrashing of Sepahan.
