Teraktorsazi routs Persepolis 4-1 in Iran Premier League (Video)
Teraktorsazi has thrashed Persepolis 4-1 in Tabriz in the 32nd week of the Iranian Premier League (IPL), giving the Tehran club its heaviest defeat of the season and taking up the second spot in the standings.
Persepolis had managed to keep their hosts at bay and even squandered a penalty kick in the first half, but five minutes into the second period their floodgates were opened, conceding four goals within the space of a quarter of an hour.
Flavio Lopez was first to put his name on the score sheet and then doubled his tally in minute 63. By then, Teraktorsazi was already two up courtesy of Farzad Hatami’s 57th-minute strike. Muhammad Hossein Ebrahimi completed the Reds’ misery by netting in the 65th minute.
Reza Nour Mohammadi pulled one back for Persepolis in the 79th minute in what proved to be a failed attempt to restore some dignity to the scoreline for the Reds.
In the table, Teraktorsazi now sits in the second slot with 62 points. Esteqlal, who plays tomorrow, is third with 59 points. Sepahan, having defeated Shahin of Bushehr in the other match of the day, leads the pack with 65 points.
Persepolis that has now let in four goals for the second game in a row languishes in the tenth spot.
