Editorial: Let the Headline not be Peter Reid!
naveedmoula.com: The time is ticking, the opponents are getting ready while Iran is going from bad to worse...
On the other side we have coaches like Bonacic, Denizli, Verbeek and even Ghotbi who don’t have the same International and big tournament experience as head coaches like the above mentioned (Denizli have some of course), but instead their knowledge on Iranian and Asian football would most likely make up for their lack of experince, considering the little time left for preparation. Not only preparing the Iran team, but ofcourse also preparing the coach and his staff for what will await Iran.
Lets be clear about one thing: The first qualifying stage (Round 3 in Asia) will be no walk in the park for Iran, and any small mistake from the coaching staff could turn real ugly, real fast. The less Mr. X knows about the Iranian players and their opponents, the bigger the chance for a vital mistake on a vital stage.
Let the headline, as the Iranian media hinted on Monday, not be Peter Reid. A player agent who has never ever coached a national team and never coached any team outside his own Island. If his backgroud is not alarming, then surely his surname must be. Let tomorrow's headline not be, Peter Reid!
