Iran shows interest in Steven Beitashour
According to reports by ESPN, the Iranian National team has shown a keen interest in obtaining the services of Steven Beitashour
The 25 year old defender, who plays for the San Jose Earthquakes of MLS is also elgible to represent the United States national team but has not been called up as of yet. When asked about the subject, Beitashour said "I think the main thing I try to focus on is just playing well every day (and) don't try to look too far into the future, because you can't tell what's going to go on. If you just play well, good things are going to come, so that's one thing we've been doing so far. Just got to keep it going."
Beitashour was drafted in the second round (3oth overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft by the San Jose Earthquakes. He made his professional debut on April 10, 2010 against the Chicago Fire, and scored his first professional goal on April 24, 2010 against Chivas USA. He was voted and chosen in the 2012 AllStar game which played Chelsea of England.
