Iranian midfielder Dejagah joins Fulham

Iranian Team Melli player Ashkan Dejagah has joined English Premier League club Fulham on a three-year contract and for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder left Bundesliga side Wolfsburg after five years. He signed his contract with Fulham late on Friday night. "I'm very happy to come and play in the Premier League," Dejagah told the club's website.

"I know Sascha Riether (Fulham's German right back) well and he told me very good things about the club," he added. The 26-year-old Dejagah made his debut for Iran earlier this year. He has three international caps for Iran.

Former Germany Under-21 player Dejagah was born in the Iranian capital city of Tehran but brought up in Germany.

Dejagah has played for Germany at all junior levels from Under-17 to Under-21.
