Shapourzadeh features 15 min in Hansa's stalement

Hansa Rostock and Arminia Bielefeld shared the spoils at the DKB-Arena on Saturday in an entertaining draw between two sides scrapping at the wrong end of the Bundesliga standings.

PA.

Christian Eigler gave visiting Bielefeld the lead in the 84th minute but they held their lead for just two minutes before Rostock drew level through Fin Bartels.

It could have been a very different story, however, after Artur Wichniarek spurned the chance to put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot inside the first 20 minutes.

The draw leaves Rostock five points clear of the relegation zone on 22 points, while 15th-placed Bielefeld are tucked in just behind them, three points further back.

The draw brought to an end an unhappy five-game losing streak for Bielefeld and could ease the pressure on coach Michael Frontzeck, who is yet to win a game since taking charge in December.

Neither team was able to produce much in the way of attacking play in the early exchanges due to high winds in Rostock.

Despite the trying conditions, Bielefeld were awarded a penalty in the 18th minute after Marc Stein hauled down Thorben Marx in the Rostock area.

Wichniarek stepped up to take the resulting spot-kick but only succeeded in firing weakly at goalkeeper Stefan Wachter, who made a comfortable save.

The wind was playing havoc on the pitch but nearly helped to create the breakthrough for the hosts, Stein's long-range shot catching a gust of air and very nearly dipping into Mathias Hain's net.

Rostock spurned a glorious chance to take the lead on 49 minutes but Enrico Kern was unfortunate to see his first-time effort cannon back off the crossbar after he had latched onto Christian Rahn's looping cross.

The breakthrough finally arrived for Bielefeld with just six minutes left on the clock.

Eigler carved out the opening for himself, beating Rostock defender Tim Sebastian before firing beyond the despairing Wachter.

But Frontzeck's joy on the touchline was short-lived, and with just four minutes remaining Bartels equalised for the hosts after good work by Zafer Yelen to set up the chance.
