Bruno Metsu’s charges, who were drawn in Group B of the qualifiers along side Korea Republic, Iran, Saudi Arabia and DPR Korea, will begin their campaign against DPR Korea on September 6 at home.
The team’s two-week training camp in France will begin on August 14.
UAE Football Association President Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi feels that the team will have to beat strong opposition in order to earn the World Cup berth.
"The final qualifiers will be tough but we know that if we want to win a seat in the finals we have to beat strong competition," he told Gulf News daily.
"Reaching the final phase of the qualifiers with the best ten Asian teams is a big honour. I do believe that we have a good chance to win a seat in the World Cup if we do our best," he added.
