Iran basketball team beats S. Korea

Iran's junior basketball team has been victorious over South Korea at the FIBA Asia Junior Championship underway in the capital Tehran.

The Iranian side beat South Korea 85-79 at Tehran's Azadi basketball hall on Monday.

Iran is scheduled to face the Philippines at 5:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday.

The Iranian outfit had defeated Japan, Malaysia and Syria in its previous games.

In other matches the same day, China defeated Lebanon 101-74 and Jordan won a 84-72 victory over Malaysia.

Sixteen teams are attending the 20th Edition of the FIBA Asia Junior Championship, which runs from August 28 through September 5.
