Abu Dhabi: New UAE coach Dominique Bathenay will start work by targeting his defence in a bid to iron out flaws which have led to the team conceding four goals in two matches.

Bathenay, who replaced outgoing Bruno Metsu two days ago, invited defenders Obaid Khalifa and Yousuf Jaber from Al Ahli, and Waleed Abbass from Al Shabab to join the team on Sunday, October 5 - a day before they leave for Nagoya in Japan where they will hold a training camp and play a friendly against Japan on October 9.
The UAE lost World Cup qualifiers to both North Korea and Saudi Arabia recently. There next qualifier is against South Korea in Seoul on October 15.
