Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Arminia Bielefeld
Artur Wichniarek had put the visitors ahead with a spectacular goal from a sharp angle before Friedhelm Funkel's troops were rewarded for a late onslaught when Kohler was left unmarked on the far post to nod home from a free-kick.
Arminia stunned the hosts after just seven minutes when Oliver Kirch headed on a cross from Michael Lamey into the box where Wichniarek cleverly lobbed the ball over Oka Nikolov from 10 yards.
The goal stood, even though Wichniarek appeared to be offside when racing onto Kirch's header.
The Polish striker, who has six goals to his name, could have doubled the lead shortly afterwards after Chris Katongo intercepted a sloppy pass. The Zambia international set up Wichniarek who fired inches wide from 14 yards out in central position.
Eintracht did not threaten until the 26th minute with Martin Fenin forcing Dennis Eilhoff into a diving save before Junichi Inamoto saw his spectacular volley diverted by the Bielefeld stopper.
There was a four-minute injury delay after Kirch fell awkwardly and broke his hand in the process, which forced him to be replaced by Alexander Laas.
Eintracht had another chance in injury time but Fenin failed to control a corner from the left allowing Markus Schuler to hack the ball into safety.
Bielefeld focused on defending their lead after the break, but Eintracht failed to create many openings with Caio and Fenin easily denied by Eilhoff.
Kohler then wasted a brilliant scoring opportunity in the 69th when he hesitated instead of pulling the trigger from 12 yards out, allowing the Bielefeld defence time to make a block.
After Wichniarek and Katongo both failed to score after promising counter attacks, Eintracht were rewarded for their patience three minutes from time.
Patrick Ochs directed his right-wing free-kick to the far post where Kohler caught Lamey napping to easily nod the ball home for the draw.
