Japan's Gamba Osaka crowned AFC champions

Japan's Gamba Osaka has grabbed the Asian Champions League title after beating Australia's Adelaide United 2-0 to win 5-0 on aggregate.

Brazilian striker Lucas scored twice for Gamba within the opening 15 minutes to completely shatter Adelaide's hopes in the second leg of the final.

Adelaide United had earlier conceded a 3-0 defeat in their first leg in Osaka, and needed a victory by the margin of at least 4 goals to claim the title.

Gamba lifted the AFC Champions League trophy for the first time and ensured back-to-back titles for Japanese clubs following Urawa Red Diamonds' 2007 triumph.

Both finalists, Gamba Osaka and Adelaide United, were already qualified for December's FIFA Club World Cup in Japan, where they will compete with clubs like British giants Manchester United and Chelsea.
