Iran's second string football team clinch third spot
Iran Sports Press: Iranian football team, taking part in the Islamic Solidarity Games, defeated Syria in Penalty shoot outs to take the Bronze medal.

Iran and Syria displayed a slow paced game with a scoreless draw until minute 90. Later in the Penalty shoot out, Iran managed to finish the game with 5-3 score and to finish 3rd in the competition.
Iranian team was earlier defeated by Morocco in Penalty shoot outs on April 18th to miss the final against Saudi.
Iran's penalty kicks were scored by: Navazi, Tajabzade, Jabari, Teymurian and Yusefi. Syrian Penalty takers were: Hamze, Jalal and Mahmood Isa while Hamid Mustafa missed his penalty kick.
