The most succesful Iranian player was Vahid Hashemian who got a 1-1 draw with Bochum at his former team Hannover 96. Vahid played a decent game and was awarded a 3.5 by kicker, which was around team average, and played for 68 minutes without scoring a goal though. However, he has a very good work rate and his coach Koller seems to put more trust in him.
Mehdi Mahdavikia went down with Eintracht Frankfurt with 4-0 away to Dortmund and got a 4.5 grade from kicker. It might sound funny but Mehdi was still one of few players playing half decent in the humiliating defeat and was not to blame at all for any goal. In fact, the 2 or 3 dangerous attacks Frankfurt had were all channeled through him.
Last but not least, Amir Shapourzadeh from FSV Frankfurt in the 2nd Bundesliga played for 90 minutes too, had a decent game, assisted FSV's only goal in the 2-1 defeat against Freiburg but the defeat made survival for Frankfurt even more difficult than before. |
