ISP Exclusive Interview with Salihamidzic

IranSportsPress.com: Iran will play a friendly game against Bosnian national team on Wednesday. However, one of the best known players of Bosnia, Salihamidzic, will miss the match. Iran Sports Press has conducted a short interview with him which you can read below.

IRANSPORTSPRESS.COM: Mr. Salihamidzic, Bosnia Herzegovina play a friendly against Iran this coming Wednesday. Will you be there?
Salihamidzic: Well, I had a surgery on my knee recently which our coach is aware of. It was best for me to stay with my club, Bayern Munich. I will start my vacation tomorrow.
(Note: Hasan Salihamidzic played 90 minutes against New York Red Bulls)

IRANSPORTSPRESS.COM: What do you think about your new team mate, Ali Karimi?
Salihamidzic: Great player! He has proven capable of playing with Bayern in
Germany
as he has great technical skills.

IRANSPORTSPRESS.COM: You have played alongside three Iranian players at Bayern; Daei, Hashemian and Karimi. How do you compare the three?
Salihamidzic: Karimi is a different type of player. Hashemian and Daei are strictly forwards with good shots and headers, most useful inside the box. Those skills can benefit many teams.
All three players, however, are very nice to play with, and keep in mind that it is quite am accomplishment to play for a side like Bayern Munich.

IRANSPORTSPRESS.COM: Do you have a favorite team in the upcoming world cup?
Salihamidzic: Well, as we all know,
Brazil, with their great individual players, is particularly strong. Others like Italy, England, and of course Germany
as the host, are also strong contenders.

IRANSPORTSPRESS.COM: What about underdog? Do you see any chance for a team like
Iran
, for example?
Salihamidzic: It is very difficult to predict. For a team like
Iran
, the first game is very important. We have to wait and see what happens in that first game, and then we may be able to predict better if that team can move farther.

IRANSPORTSPRESS.COM: Thank you for the interview!
Salihamidzic: My pleasure!
