Osasuna Pamplona sign Javad Nekounam

IranSportspress.com - Javad Nekounam signs a 2 year deal with Spanish side Osasuna Pamplona and becomes the first Iranian player in the Spanish Primera Division.

The news has been confirmed by Osasuna's official website, as well as the big Spanish sport papers like Marca and AS. Javad Nekounam will sign a 2 year deal, with the option of an extension for 1 year.
The contract for Javad comes as a big surprise, given that it's very difficult to get into a Spanish club, as a Non-EU foreigner, because of the limitations imposed by the Spanish League authorities of 3 Non-EU players at maximum at each club.

Osasuna finished last season 4th in the league and stayed ahead of UEFA-Cup winner Sevilla to qualify for the Champions League Qualification round. The club was led last season by the Mexican Javier Aguirre, who however left the club for Atletico Madrid. The new coach is former club player José Angel Ziganda and it's a good opportunity for Javad to show himself as the coach will surely not have his group of players yet.

The Spanish league is probably the most challenging league for any midfield and it will be a great challenge for Javad to mess every week with some of the greatest players in the world.
