UPDATE- Ghalenoei Appointed as New Iran Head Coach
TEHRAN- (IranSportsPress.com): Amir Ghalenoei has been appointed as the new head coach of Iran national football team by the Iranian Football Federation.

Ghalenoei who was obviously delighted with his new role told the reporters: “It is a great honour to serve my country. I will announce the coaching staff of the national team by the end of the week, and we will hold our first training session next week”.
Reacting to this news, Esteghlal chairman had earlier announced that the current Iranian champions have accepted to release Ghalenoei from his contract and are now actively searching for his replacement. However, it was later announced that Ghalenoei will continue as Esteghlal head coach while he is the national team head coach.
Ghalenoei who completed a successful season with Esteghlal last year, winning the Iranian league, is given the task of qualifying Iran for the 2007 Asian Cup.
There has been no reports on the details of the contract between the Iranian Football Federation and Ghalenoeoi.
