Iran's Women's Basketball Team reaches semi-final of West Asian Championship

Iran's National Women's Basketball Team beat Iraq with a landslide 44 to 108 victory to reach the semi-final match of the West Asian Women's Basketball Championship.

According to IRNA correspondent here, the game was played at Halab's Assad Sports Stadium.

Deputy Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Basketball Federation Fatemeh Karamzadeh in an interview with IRNA reporter evaluated the Iranian Women's National Basketball Team's Wednesday performance as "excellent."
She added, "Our team's next match would be tomorrow (Thursday) when they would play against the Lebanese National Team, whose winner would be on of the games' finalists."
Karamzadeh reiterated, "Our teamsters will have no more preparation games and they will rest till tomorrow afternoon when they would go to the stadium for the semi-final game."
The National Iranian Women's Basketball team on Tuesday lost to Syria's Al-Jala'a Team 65-77, but later on beat Jordan's national team, which helped it make up for the loss.

West Asian Women's Basketball Championship Games that began on Sunday, April 13th in Damascus, will end on Friday April 18th here.

The participating teams include the national women's teams of Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Iraq, and Syria's Al-Jala'a and Al-Yarmuk teams.
