Los Angeles Galaxy requested Iran’s national football team to come to the U.S. but has yet to send the invitation, chair of the foreign relations committee said on Friday.
” We will surely play Galaxy in case of receiving an official invitation from the soccer federation of the U.S.”, Hassan Ghaffari added.
English international midfielder David Beckham is also a member of Los Angeles Galaxy.
Two teams have been scheduled to play in June 2008.
Iran and the U.S. have previously played in the 1998 World Cup, in which the Persians defeated their rival 2-1 in France.
