LA Galaxy deny friendly match-up against Iran

On April 20th, Iran Football Federation announced the news of “La Galaxy’s request for a Friendly game against Iran National football team to be held in U.S”. In an official statement by one of IFF officials, Hassan Ghaffari assured Iranian fans that “A friendly encounter against LA Galaxy is scheduled to take place in June 2008, once IFF receives the official invitation from the U.S Football Federation.”

The Galaxy officials however, in response to confirmation of such friendly game, shrugged off above statement by Iran Football Federation officials, stating: “The Galaxy has no plans to play Iran anytime in the near future. It is very rare for the Galaxy to play any national team. The Galaxy likes to play top tier friendly matches against other clubs and let the US National Team play the friendlies against other national teams.”
