Iran’s football coach Afshin Ghotbi criticized the referees of the Doha International Friendship Football Tournament.

“I don’t know why the referees favored our rivals in the tournament. We gained valuable experience from this,” he added. Iran
finished in fourth place in the event, however Ghotbi believed they
could have won the championship if the referees’ decisions did not go
against them. “I am happy we beat the tournament’s champion
North Korea in our last match. Although we did not get satisfying
results in the Qatar tournament we made good assessments of our
players’ capabilities,” Ghotbi said.
