Sepahan Ranked Top in Asia by IFFHS

In the latest World Club Ranking by International Federation of Football History & Statistics, Iran's Sepahan is ranked best in Asia and 55th in World Ranking.

IFFHS

At last there is change! The four leading teams of the Club World Ranking are separated by just six points. Sevilla FC lost the leadership in the Club World Ranking after a record period of 17 months because the Andalusians lost in Istanbul against Fenerbahçe (2:3) through a gross defensive error three minutes from the end of match. Milan threw away the renewed opportunity to take over the lead. Again was it Catania, where the "Rossoneri" lost two points, this time because of a draw (1:1). So Chelsea FC from London became leaders of the Club World Ranking for the first time, although the national league cup competitions are not taken into consideration. In the "Top 4" only the two English teams are still represented in the national FA cup competitions.

The World's Club Team of the Month for February is FC Bayern Münich ahead of Cruzeiro EC Belo Horizonte. The "Bayern" achieved the second highest number of points (42) worldwide, remained unbeaten in all three national and international competitions and  improved from 38th to 17th place in the Club World Ranking. Sporting Club of  Portugal from Lisbon secured one more point, but did not remain unbeaten (a basic condition).

Impressive improvements in the Club World Ranking were achieved by RSC Anderlecht, Sporting Clube de Portugal, CA Lanús, Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte, Bolton Wanderers, Estudiantes de La Plata, Caracas FC, Portsmouth FC, Boyacá Chicó, and Al-Muhrraq Manama who won the national cup of Bahrain, while Real Madrid dropped back to 29th place.

In the "Top 100" there are clubs from 38 countries: 60 clubs from the UEFA, 27 from the CONMEBOL, four from the CONCACAF, six from the CAF, three from the AFC, but none from the OFC. The following leagues are represented by the most clubs in the "Top 100": Brazil (10), England (9), Spain (8), Germany (7), Italy (6), Argentina (6), France (4), Mexico (4), Turkey (3), Portugal (3) and Colombia (3).
