Esteqlal thrashes Malavan

The Blues edged out Malavan 2-0 at the Azadi Stadium in the Iranian capital on Tuesday.

Pejman Montazeri scored the first goal in the 41st minute and Arash Borhani scored the second one at the 78th.

Esteqlal substituted three players since their rival changed the team's strategy three times, Firouz Karimi, Esteqlal's head coach explained.

He further expressed his satisfaction with the team's growth and progress.

Esteqlal is slated to play against Sepahan FC on 29 March.
