TEHRAN- (IranSportsPress.com): Sepahan have parted company with Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira after just 4 months in the job, following a series of disappointing results.
The news was announced following a meeting between the managing director of Sepahan, Saket, and Vieira on Monday. A compensation package has been agreed between the two parties, and Vieira will be leaving Sepahan with an immediate effect.
Vieira was in charge of Iraq during 2007 Asian Cup, and managed to lift the cup with Iraq after just two months in the job, beating Saudi Arabia in the final. However, he never managed to repeat the same success with Sepahan, going out in the Hazfi Cup and Asian Champions League, and losing the league title to Perspolis on the last day of the season.
In other news, Hamid Estili has been appointed as the new head coach of Iran champions, Perspolis. Estili who was assistant coach to Afshin Ghotbi last season was a firm favourite to succeed Ghotbi. Soon after being appointed as the new coach of Perspolis, Estili made his first signing, adding Hashem Beikzadeh to his squad in a one year deal.
