"Technically, we played one of our best performances. Firat, Sepahan coach, confirmed that this match was played in a high level. We put Sepahan under pressure and didn’t let them attack our goal.” Ghalenoei told reporters at the news conference after the match.
“Referee Mohsen Torky had to show the spot when Sepahan defender brought Farhad Majidi down in the box. I think we could have won the match if Mr. Torky had announced the penalty,” Esteghlal coach stated.
Esteghlal players are suffering last seasons’ losses now, but they have to know the blues are Asia’s most honored team, Ghalenoei added.
Esteghlal was held to a 1-1 draw against Sepahan at the Azadi Stadium on Sunday.
