An Iranian stock market official says Esteqlal and Persepolis can not be privatized unless the two clubs remove their 'financial ambiguities'.

"Not only do these two clubs are always faced with a lot of problems in issuing
their financial documents, but are making losses. Therefore, their shares can
not be traded on the stock market," said Mehdi Elmolhoda, a spokesman for the
over-the-counter (OTC) trading sector in Iran's Stock Market Organization.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said last week that Esteqlal and
Persepolis' shares should be offered to private investors as they are the most
popular sports clubs in the country and have millions of fans.
"However,
it is possible that these two clubs offer their shares in OTC stock market after
they remove their financial ambiguities," Elmolhoda added.
OTC stocks
are not usually listed or traded on an official stock market list.
