1st Iranian female intl. volleyball referee appointed

Sadiqeh Hatemabadi Farahani has made Iranian volleyball history by becoming the first Iranian female international referee.

She completed the international volleyball referee courses held in Bahrain in 2006 and the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) has accepted her credentials to judge international competitions, the Iran Women News Agency (IWNA) reported.

Farahani was formerly the captain of Iran’s national women’s volleyball team.
