Iran’s Basketball Team was drawn with Argentina (Olympics gold medalist), Russia( European champions), Australia(Oceania champions), Lithuania and a team has yet to be decided in Group A for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

“I would like we were drawn in Group B. Iran certainly are in the tough group because we don’t know our rivals. At least, we could be hopeful of beating China as an Asian team but we will face off a number of big teams in the Olympics,” head of Iran’s Basketball Federation(IFF) Mahmoud Mashhun said.
Meanwhile, Group B include world champions Spain, Americas champions the United States, hosts China and African champions Angola with two further qualifiers.
