Aussies beat Iran's basketball team

The Aussies have won a best-of-three men's pre-Beijing Olympics basketball series after defeating the Iranian national team 97-53.

Australia led 50-20 at halftime and increased its advantage to 76-31 after three quarters. Hamed Haddadi scored 18 points but could not prevent Iran's second defeat in Adelaide.

Iran lost the first game 87-68 Monday in Perth. The final game will be played Friday in Melbourne.

Iran and Australia are in the same group in the Beijing Olympic Games, which will be held from August 8-24.
