“China, Thailand, and Hungary will compete with Iran during the competition to be held in Tehran's Azadi Stadium,” Mehr news agency quoted Shams as saying on Saturday.
“The competition will be aimed at preparing the Iranian national futsal team for the Futsal World Cup and evaluating the players' performance,” he added.
Last May, Iran's Football Federation (IFF) announced during the Asian Futsal Championship in Bangkok that Iran was willing to host the Futsal World Cup in Tehran.
Earlier this year, the Iranian team won the 10th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship in Bangkok.
Iran, Thailand, Japan and China will represent Asia at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil in October 2008.
