Iran defeated Slovenia 3-2 (25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 20-18) in its second match on Wednesday.
Iran will next take on Russia on Thursday, and play against Pakistan on Friday before it faces the hosts of the competition, Kazakhstan, on Saturday.
The Iranian outfit was defeated by Tunisia 3-0 in its first match on Tuesday.
Seven nations including Kazakhstan, Iran, Tunisia, Pakistan, Estonia and Russia have taken part in the event, which runs from July 6 to 13.
Iran is currently preparing to participate in the Asian Youth Volleyball Championship to be held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in September.
The Iranians won the Youth World Volleyball Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2007.
