The Iranian volleyball team has advanced to the semifinals of the 14th Asian Junior Men's Volleyball Championship being held in Tehran.

Iran joined the final four after defeating Japan in three consecutive sets (25-23, 25-22, and 25-12) at Tehran's Azadi Gymnasium on Friday.
In other matches the same day, India beat Australia 3-0, Pakistan defeated South Korea 3-0 and China won a victory over Qatar to storm into the semifinals.
The Iranian squad is scheduled to meet Pakistan at 5:00pm local time while India faces China at 7:00pm on Saturday.
The final game will be held at Tehran's Azadi Gymnasium on Sunday.
Thirteen countries are participating in the nine-day event which ends August 31.
