Iran Snatch Asian Volleyball Championship

Defending champion Iran thrashed China 25-15, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22 on Sunday at Tehran's Azadi Gymnasium.

Iran and China have already been qualified for the world cup finals after defeating their opponents in the semi-finals of the championship.

Pakistan, also hammered India in three consecutive sets 25-12, 25-11, 25-20 to stand in the third place.

Before facing China, Iran had defeated Pakistan in three straight sets 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.

The nine-day events have attracted thirteen countries to Tehran. The finalists now prepare for the World Youth Volleyball Championships to due in Italy next year.
