"I signed a contract with the German club four or five months before the Beijing Olympics and I will travel to Germany on Wednesday," Miresmaeili said in an ISNA interview on Saturday.
"I couldn't take part in the first week of the German judo league because my visa was not ready," he continued. "I'm unfamiliar with the German judo league as it is the first time I am participating in the competitions."
The 27-year-old Iranian judo captain also plans to attend a coaching course in Germany.
Miresmaeili snatched gold medals in the World Judo Championships in 2001 and 2003. He has won bronze medals in two World Judo Championships.
