The Iranian side won a 3-2 victory over China in its third match in Ratchasima on Tuesday.
China took the lead in the first two sets by 25-23 and 25-17. However, Iran fought back hard and took the next three sets 25-15, 25-21 and 15-7 to win the game.
The Iranian outfit lost their first game against South Korea on Saturday, but beat the host nation Thailand on Sunday.
Group A of the volleyball tournament consists of China, Korea, Iran and Thailand, while Group B contains Australia, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Indonesia.
The tournament is being held in Nakhon Ratchasima's MCC Hall from September 20-26, 2008.
