Iran defeated S. Korean team 3-2 (13-25, 25-15, 27-25, 15-25, 15-7) and won the first Asian Volleyball Confederation championship.
Iran had lost its opener 3-1 to South Korea. Hossein Ma’dani’s team defeated Thailand, China, China Taipei and Japan in the competitions as well.
The one-week tournament was held in the Mall Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from September 20.
