Mahram basketball coach Mostafa Hashemi said on Saturday that his team has deservedly won the Dubai International Championship.

In the final match held at the Al-Ahli Indoor Stadium, Mahram beat Al Riyadi of Lebanon 85-67 and finished in first place.
“This is Mahram’s first title in 2010 and we are so happy about it. Mahram did a good job of representing Iranian basketball in the tourney,” Hashemi said in a telephone interview.
10 of the best regional teams, including Lebanese Al Riyadi, Zain of Jordan, the UAE National Team and the Philippines’ Smart Gilas took part in the Dubai International Basketball Championship in two groups.
“This tournament was better than the previous editions in terms of quality, and most of the teams participated in the championship with their best players. For instance, Al Riyadi had brought five American players to Dubai,” Mahram coach added.
“I am not satisfied with my team’s overall performance in the tournament. Mahram just played better in the final match,” Hashemi concluded.
