Iran wins gold in Asian archery tourney
Iranian men archers have displayed their superiority in the 17th Asian Archery Championships and won a gold medal after defeating their South Korean rivals.
Iran's Amir Kazempour, Majid Qeidi and Reza Ramzaninejad recorded impressive performance in the final match of the compound section on Friday, and scored 209 points, ISNA reported.
The South Korean squad could manage to get 197 points in the final.
Kazakhstan and Malaysia came respectively third and fourth in the compound section of the sports event.
The 17th Asian Archery Championships opened on October 18 in the Iranian capital and will run to October 24.
The event is the continental qualification tournament for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England.
Twenty two countries have participated in the prestigious event, according to Iran's Archery Federation website.
