Omid Noroozi gets gold while Navab Nasirshelal gets silver
Omid Noroozi defeats Georgian Revaz Lashki by the score of 2-0 to get gold
Omid Noroozi captures Iran’s second gold at the 2012 London games in the 60KG weight division of Greco Roman competitions one day after Hamid Suriyan ends Iran’s gold medal drought at this sport, and first medal in 40 years.
Noroozi defeated Georgian Revaz Lashki by the score of 2-0 and had no problems as he eased into the medal stand to grab the second gold for the Iranian envoy at the London Olympics Games. Russia’s Kuramagom and Japan’s Matsumoto share the third place podium and bronze at this weight deivision.
In the 105Kg weight-lifting division Navab Nasirshelal fell short of the gold medal and received a silver by lifting 411kg of total weight; one less than Oleksiyi of Ukraine. There was a controversy to start the day in this division as the two Russian weight lifters did not make weight and were dis-qualified.
Iran currently stands at the 24th place with its two golds, one silver, and one bronze medal.
