Wrestlers competing in the Mens 84Kg Freestyle and 120Kg Freestyle division have placed third at the 2012 London Olympics games.

Ehsan Lashgari lost to the eventual gold medalist Sahrif Sharifov of Azerbayjan in the semi final of the 84Kg weight division and came in a respectful third place while Ghasem Komeil defeated Ivaylov Dlagnev of USA at the 120 KG in the constellation finals to land a bronze medal.

Iran has received six medals in the sport of Greco and Freestyle Wrestling at the 2012 Olympic games; second to only Russia who has received 11 medals with 9 of those in the male division.

Iran's last remaining medal hopefuls will compete at the 66Kg & 96KG weight divisions in Mehdi Taghavi and Mohammad Yazdani.

This has been Iran’s best showing at an Olympic event in recent olympics with its 4 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals. This places Iran at the 16th place of gold medal count, while tied with Jamaica for the 18th place of total medal count.
